Vania Ceccato

Vania Ceccato is the principal investigator of the FORMAS research project (HS-2016/0009) that investigates the nature of emergency service provision in Sweden, especially in the most remote areas of the country, in cooperation with Department of Geography, Uppsala University (from 2017 to 2020). Ceccato is a Professor at the Department of Urban Planning and Environment, School of Architecture and the Built Environment, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden. She coordinates the national network Safeplaces (Säkraplatser) funded by The Swedish National Crime Prevention Council (BRÅ). Main research areas are transit safety, rural crime, housing and community safety, gendered and intersectionality in safety issues.

 

Susanne Stenbacka

Susanne Stenbacka is a research collaborator in this research project that investigates the nature of emergency service provision in Sweden. Stenbacka is an Associate professor in social and economic geography, employed as a senior lecturer. Her research is primarily on rural – urban relations with a focus on the transformation of rural areas in Sweden. With a specific interest for qualitative research, she is currently involved in research projects focusing  rural masculinities and femininities, international migration into rural areas, recruitment of migrant farm workers, and ”future farmers” from a gender perspective.

 

Runa Björnsdóttir

Runa Björnsdóttir is a PhD student at the Department of Urban Planning and Environment, School of Architecture and the Built Environment, KTH Royal Institute of Technology and a contributor in this research project. Björnsdóttir has a background in Earth Sciences and Environmental Management and Physical Planning at Stockholm University and will use Geographic Information Systems (GIS) as a tool to map and study the supply and demand of emergency and rescue services in Sweden.
